The program also discusses evidence-based methods for treating patients with carcinoid tumors.
•  Barrett's Esophagus and Adenocarcinoma
Barrett's esophagus is a premalignant lesion of esophageal adenocarcinoma, and the incidence of esophageal adenocarcinoma is on the rise. Early detection improves survival from this cancer.
•  Evolving Aspects of Colorectal Carcinoma
Colorectal cancer is one of the most frequently diagnosed carcinomas in the United States and the second leading cause of cancer death in the United States and North America. It is probably the most preventable form of cancer because it begins as premalignant adenoma. If these adenomas are detected early and removed many cases of colorectal cancer can be prevented.
•  Innovations in Endoscopy
Modern diagnostic and therapeutic endoscopy is progressing rapidly. The number of physicians practicing endoscopy is also increasing. Physicians must remain abreast of the new information, practices and techniques that are also rapidly evolving.
